This month our
featured constellation is Leo the Lion. Leo is a
highly visible springtime constellation that is
almost due overhead at 9 PM. It is recognizable
by the great "backwards question mark"
that forms the head of the Lion, as well as the
tail which is made up of a right angle triangle
of three stars. Two famous objects that are easily visible in Leo are M65 and M66. With the
right telescope, both of these galaxies are
visible in the same eyepiece. The brightest star in Leo is the
famous star Regulus. It is a double star and it is found at the
base of the sickle.
